Hallo, Welt!

December 14, 2011

Last January, I was inspired when I saw pictures from this Canadian couple’s travel blog, including their tour of a few European Christmas markets. Bruce and I said, “fun! We should do that, someday.”

Considering that 2011 has proven to me that life is indeed short, we decided that this would be the year to check out some markets! We brought my mom along, since she normally spends Christmas with us, and we could share costs, too. Besides, Bruce and I considered it an opportunity to share some of our favorite German cities with her!

So, read on, for a bunch of pictures and a bit of narration–four German cities, two Belgian cities, and one French city. All with their own way to celebrate the holidays. But… all markets sell gluhwein, a sweet, mulled warm red wine, after which I’ve named this blog. Kick back with a mug and enjoy…
